PDO (Polydioxanone) Mono Threads

PDO Mono Threads are a flexible absorbable suture material that has been used in cardiac surgery for over 50 years. PDO Mono Threads is a Non Surgical treatment designed to rejuvenate the skin by tightening and improving skin texture. It can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles giving the skin a tighter feel and a more youthful appearance. This is a popular treatment option as an alternative to the traditional Surgical Facelift.

PDO Mono threads are of a similar thickness to fine hair and is inserted via a fine needle. The threads are inserted just below the skin in the sub dermal layer in a mesh like pattern. This will cause the body to react and begin the production of collagen synthesis allowing the skin to thicken over time. The threads placed under the skin will become a support structure for the collagen production. These threads will be fully absorbed by the body over time.

What does the Procedure involve?

 A Topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for approximately 20-30 minutes. Skin is then cleansed with Surgical antiseptic and allowed to dry. Multiple PDO Mono threads are inserted into the skin. (Number of threads used are dependant on the treatment area) The needles are removed whilst leaving the fine absorbable suture threads under the skin.

What areas can be treated? 

Under eye area- Sagging skin, wrinkles and eye bags, Forehead lines, Brow lift, Upper and lower cheeks, Nasolabial Folds, Marionette lines, Jowls, wrinkles around lips, Neck and Jawline lifting/ rejuvenation/skin tightening, smoothing lines and wrinkles, Facial volume restoration or an alternative for those not wanting Dermal Fillers.

Body Treatment areas include: Decolletage, Knee skin tightening/rejuvenation, Hand rejuvenation/ skin firming, Stomache, Upper arms.

Results: It will take 6-8 weeks to start seeing noticable results. Results continue to improve over 3 months post treatment as the body continues to produce new collagen. Results last 12-18 months, however individual results will vary and some patients may require an additional treatment for improved results.
