Frequently asked questions - anti wrinkle injections

You will generally start to see results in 4-7 days for the Anti Wrinkle Injection to take effect, full results are seen at 14 days. 

Results last 3-4 months, however it depends on treatment areas and dosages used. Regular treatments are recommended to help the effects to last longer and to help reduce static wrinkles. 

We would love to see your treatment results! It is recommended that you attend a review appointment after 2 weeks so that your treatment outcome can be assessed. 

Possible side effects are usually minimal, however as this treatment is delivered via injection there is a small risk of pain, bruising, slight swelling, or redness at the injected area. 

A very fine needle is used for injecting the Anti Wrinkle medication. The pain is equivalent to a slight pinch or sting. No topical anaesthetic is required for this treatment. 

Do not rub or touch the treated area until the next morning. No facial treatments, laser or massage in the treated areas for 2 weeks as this is to help prevent any complications. Remain upright for 6 hours post treatment to prevent the spreading of the product to another area. No strenuous exercise, and avoid any heat treatments such as sauna for up to 48 hours post procedure. Avoid alcohol and exercise for 24 hours. A "Post Treatment Care Instructions" sheet will be given to clients in both a hard copy form and as an email.

Facial enhancements are visibly seen instantly, full results can be seen 2-4 weeks post treatment as this is the time required for the filler to soften and settle. 

This is dependant on the treatment area, amount of facial volume loss, dosage used during treatment and the type of Dermal Filler used as there are soft, medium and firm fillers available. Another factor that contributes to the longevity of the filler includes lifestyle and your metabolism rate. On average, fillers can last between 6-18 months before being naturally metabolised and absorbed by the body. 

Side effects  associated with Dermal Filler injections include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness to the treated area. If any side effects occur, they will usually resolve naturally a few days post treatment. Swelling tends to settle over 48 hours and bruising within 5-7 days. 

Dermal Filler injections contain a local anaesthetic in the syringe when manufactured. Topical numbing cream is applied for Lip fillers and as requested for all other treatment areas to provide comfort for clients. 

Avoid massaging or rubbing around the area treated. You should not wear makeup for 12 hours around the treated areas. Avoid any strenuous exercise and consumption of alcohol for 24 hours as this may contribute to excess swelling and bruising. No facial treatments, laser or massage for 2 weeks as this is to help prevent any complications.  A "Post Treatment Care Instructions" sheet will be given to clients in both a hard copy form and as an email.  

We would love to see your treatment results! It is recommended for clients to come in for a 2 week follow up to compare pre and post treatment photos and to assess treatment outcomes.
